As with anything internet facing, this server has security. For instance, my ssh server has fail2ban, my root account is disabled, and only certain accounts can be logged into through ssh. And knowing my luck, it’ll be compromised by the end of the week because I’ve told you that.
This has been an automated headed post. I need to redo the script but this is nice.
I also ought to make a nice script for doing
I love the sound of rain. Something about the irregular pitter-patter puts my mind at rest; I work alot better when it’s raining.
I’m working on something in Flask. Flask is beautiful, I need to learn more of it.
HSTS is a nice thing.
However, when trying to implement it on this site, I found that the top results on google were out of date, and/or wrong. As such, I’ll attempt to talk about how to enable it in apache2, and why you should.
This presumes you’ve enabled https for your site/subdomains and therefore have .conf files for them; HSTS doesn’t even make sense without https.
We’re on a new theme! This is great. I need to work out how to make post excerpts now.
Also, upcoming post on doing HSTS.
We now have HSTS enabled! This means that, presuming no-one frauds this website before you load this, that your browser should automatically redirect to https internally, before you even touch the internet.
While this is a good thing, it does mean that if my certificates get jacked, or ssl dies, we’ll have problems.
The other decision is whether or not to include the
preload header. The issue with that is if I create new subdomains, I need to make them https.
Always using https is good practice anyway, but there may be domains that can’t be https for some reason, at which point we have a problem. Again.
I want to write an article about this now.
Enrolled in A-Levels (technically). Still gotta finish the homework.
I made a new subdomain. It’s pretty. Might be an ass to edit on the server.
If I can, I’m going to setup HSTS properly today. I’m pretty sure I can. Don’t want to do HSTS preload yet.
In fact, might write a post about using it. It’s a good thing.
It’s a nice enough day.
It rained today. Really torrential rain. I got soaked.
I really ought to look for a proper job, the paper round is killing me. It earns well enough but Im going to have to get up at 5:30 when school starts.
I’m tired today. Got no games to play since Destiny 2 Beta is over and I don’t feel like playing anything else.
I guess PUBG works.
Need to do homework.
So I guess we’ll do this now? Maybe we’re ok, maybe we won’t be. Lets do this. Lets do more dev stuff.
Also this is not the markdown I’m used to.
